Cold Laser Therapy

Cold Laser therapy is one of the most effective animal rehabilitation modalities for treating acute and chronic pain. Promoting healing in pets, Cold Laser uses specific frequencies of light to penetrate deep into the animals tissues.  From the low-level laser therapy, the treated cells then use this light energy to repair and regenerate themselves. This process enhances the animal’s natural healing abilities thus increasing circulation which then reduces surrounding inflammation and fluid build up in the treated area.

Some of the ailments Laser therapy can treat:

  • Joint pain or injury

  • Trigger Point therapy

  • Ligament and tendon injuries (especially effective with ACL injuries)

  • Tendon Injuries

  • Soft Tissue Injuries

  • Arthritis

  • Abrasions on the skin

  • Post surgery wounds

  • Disc disease

  • Hip dysphasia

  • Paralysis

Case Study

Cold laser therapy was used on Dani. During playtime, Dani got injured and slipped a disc. Being part Weiner dog or corgi, she was genetically prone to degenerative disc disease. Due to the injury, Dani was temporarily paralyzed and could not control her bowel movements.

Using the combination of Physical Therapy and Cold Laser Therapy 2 times weekly for a total of 4 months, we were able to heal Dani’s disc displacement and help her regain full mobility.

We are now working to stabilize and strengthen the muscles to optimize mobility and prevent any further injuries.

Dani’s healing would not be possible without the dedication of her parents who made the necessary lifestyle adjustments such as adding carpet to any areas she could slip in and preventing jumping off of furniture.
